Uthappa Wants To Lead KKR’s Show

Robin Uthappa showed what he is capable of when he led Kolkata Knight Riders to a 7-wicket win over favourites Chennai Super Kings with a match-winning 80 not out.

The elegant Karnataka right-hander expressed after the match that he wants to be the pillar of KKR’s batting just like he was in their successful campaign last season.

It is true that Uthappa was inspirational for Gautam Gambhir’s side last year and was the worthy winner of the ‘Orange Cap’ with 660 runs at an average of 44 and a strike-rate of 137.

Uthappa has started a bit slowly this season but is still the leading run-getter for KKR with 223 runs. For KKR to succeed, Uthappa has to implement what he has promised.
