Adding yet another feather to his cap, India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has now pipped Sourav Ganguly for winning most overseas ODI matches as captain. Edging past West Indies in their 4th World Cup Pool B encounter on Friday, March 6th, MSD marshalled India to their 59th ODI victory away from home under his captaincy, beating Ganguly’s record of 58 wins in 110 matches.

The victory would taste even sweeter for Dhoni because he led from the front and top scored for India with a patient 45 not out, finishing the game for India, yet again. Explaining the WACA pitch which almost spoilt the party for India, Dhoni said: “It was a difficult wicket, even initially with the new ball. There was some variable bounce, it was doing a bit. It settled down later, there was some swing for the West Indies bowlers as well, with the new ball.”

India, who had been setting targets in their previous matches at WC 2015, didn’t look as comfortable chasing this time. However, Dhoni’s return to form is good news as the quarterfinal tie approaches.
