In what can only be called a sudden twist, Sourav Ganguly has emerged as the most favoured choice to become the next BCCI president.

As per a report from Times of India, today was the last day to file nomination but Ganguly doesn’t have any opposition.

It is noteworthy that Ganguly is currently the president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and will have to go into a compulsory cooling off period before joining the post as the BCCI head.

As for other posts, Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah is likely to become the new secretary, while former BCCI president Anurag Thakur’s brother Arun Dhumal will be the new treasurer.

Talking about his roles and responsibilities, Ganguly said that he is taking over the charge at a time when BCCI’s image has taken a hit and that leaves him with an opportunity to do something good.
