Team India is only 7 wickets away from claiming the third Test match against Sri Lanka and with that the 3-match series which is currently poised at 1-1.
India started the day on 21/3 and able contributions from Rohit Sharma (50), Stuart Binny (49), Amit Mishra (39) and R Ashwin (58) took the Indian total to 274/10.
Sri Lanka chasing 386 to save the series needed a good start but that didn’t happen as Ishant Sharma (2/14) and Umesh Yadav (1/32) destroyed their top-three.
The hosts still need 319 runs to win and would want rain to take away time from the final day to save the Test and the series.
