India Slightly Ahead After Day 2 Of 2nd Test

Team India continued with the momentum they got on the opening day of the second Test against Sri Lanka and have the hosts in doubt at the end of the second day.

A lucky innings by Wriddhiman Saha (56) meant that India had 393 on board after their first innings. Rangana Herath took 4/81 for the hosts. Like India, Lanka too had a bad start and lost Dimuth Karunaratne in the first over.

Kumar Sangakkara (32) then walked out to bat in his last Test match and got a start but failed against R Ashwin’s guile for the third time in three innings.

Kaushal Silva (51) got the islanders past the 100-run mark but lost his cool the moment he reached fifty. Lahiru Thirimanne (28) and Angelo Mathews (19) were the two not out batsmen as they still trail India by 253 runs.
