Team India scored their 7th kill in a row at World Cup 2015 on Thursday, 19th March, crushing Bangladesh by 109 runs in the quarter-final clash. Underdogs Bangladesh gave the defending champions a bit of a fight but India stuck to the basics and made sure there was no repeat of the infamous defeat in 2007.

Electing to bat, India started strong before Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane got out in quick succession. Thankfully, Rohit Sharma made the most of his good start and went on to score his first World Cup ton (137 off 126 balls).

The pressure was on the bowlers again and Suresh Raina carried on from where he left in the last match and went on to score a well-paced 65. Ravindra Jadeja too impressed with whatever little hit he got in the middle and took the Indian total beyond 300-mark with his quick-fire 23 off balls.

A chase in excess of 300 was always going to be a daunting task for Bangladesh which banked heavily on the in-form Mohammad Mahmudullah Riyad. Once the top-order gave in early and Mahmudullah (21) also walked back, it was a cakewalk for the Indian bowlers.

Umesh Yadav picked up 4 wickets for India while Mohammed Shami bagged 2. He is now the leading wicket-taker at the World Cup with 17 scalps. India will now meet the winner of Australia vs Pakistan in their semi-final clash.
