Match-winning performances by Sunil Narine (4/19) and Andre Russell (21-ball 51) gave KKR a nail-biting 1-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab in a cliffhanger.
Punjab finally got their batting right as Glenn Maxwell (43 off 22) lived up to his name and talent and David Miller (11-ball 27*) finished the innings well. The score would have been around 200 if not for Narine.
After posting 183/5, KKR got off to a descent start but kept losing wickets at crucial junctures. And it was left to the destructive Russell to take them over the line.
However, even the Jamaican assassin couldn’t finish the game and his job was completed by Piyush Chawla (18 off 11). KKR with the win have rocketed to the top with 15 points.
