Mumbai Indians are in top gear winning their fifth consecutive IPL 8 game and this time they didn’t beat an ordinary team but downed the mighty Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets.
CSK have lost a bit of steam of late and could only manage 158/5. MS Dhoni was once again selfish in his approach (39* off 32) and it was the bowler, Pawan Negi (17-ball 36), who took them past 150.
MI got to a match-winning start as Lendl Simmons (38) and Parthiv Patel (45) put together an 84-run stand and the remaining formality was completed by Ambati Rayudu (19-ball 34*).
Mumbai now have six wins from eleven matches and are in a safe place. CSK, even after the loss, are on top where they are most likely to finish.
