India skipper Mithali Raj etched her name in history books as she became the highest run-getter in women’s ODI cricket. With her fifty against Australia in the group match of 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup at Bristol, Mithali surpassed the record of 5,992 runs held by England’s Charlotte Edwards.

The veteran batter also became the first cricketer to reach 6000 runs in this format. She reached the milestone with a stylish six. Mithali holds the record of scoring seven consecutive fifties, which she created against England on Saturday. She also has 48 ODI fifties to her name – most by any woman cricketer.

She made her debut for India against Ireland in 1999. The 16-year-old batter scored an impressive century on her debut.
