Spinner Pragyan Ojha was injured during a Duleep Trophy match after a ball struck him near the ear.

The 30-year-old, who has played 24 Tests for India, was taken to hospital immediately and is now in stable condition.

The BCCI also tweeted out a photo of Ojha, who plays for India Green in the ongoing Duleep Trophy, looking fine in the hospital – he is however, still wearing a neck brace. “His health will be monitored,” the board said.

Ojha was fielding at mid-on when he went down for what looked like a harmless shot – but the awkward bounce surprised him and he was immediately in pain.

The BCCI tweeted out the video of the injury as well.

Given the freak injuries in cricket over the last couple of years, we are glad Ojha is doing well.
