Six Out Of Six! Indian Women Beat Pakistan In Final To Lift Asia Cup T20

SW Staff

The Indian women’s cricket team won their sixth Asia Cup title after beating rivals Pakistan in the final in Bangkok by 17 runs. The win also meant that India are now on a staggering run of 32 matches unbeaten in the tournament.

Mithali Raj led from the front with an unbeaten 73 as India put on 121-5. It was a vital innings, with seven 4s and one six – especially considering that only two batters managed to score in double digits.

But the total was enough as India’s bowlers did the rest of the job with extremely economical bowling, allowing Pakistan to score just 104-6 in 20 overs. Despite a fine start from openers Ayesha Zafar (15) and Javeria Khan (22), wickets at regular intervals and a tight line helped India’s cause and brought home another trophy.
