Team Manager Reveals Dressing Room Details That Run Quite Contrary To Kohli’s Claims

Anil Kumble stepped down as India coach after the Champions Trophy following a fall out with skipper Virat Kohli. Kumble in his statement claimed that the captain had reservations about his work style and the partnership had become untenable.

On the other hand, Kohli denied reports of possible rift with the former leg-spinner, but team manager has now revealed that the duo was barely talking to each during the ICC event. 

“I didn’t see much communication between the coach and captain, personally didn’t witness arguments between the two,” Team Manager Kapil Malhotra wrote in a report to BCCI, according to ANI.

Malhotra also added that Kumble was found to be slightly reserved during the initial days of the event but became more approachable as the tournament progressed. 

Kumble who was offered an extension to go to West Indies along with team refused the offer and decided to quit from the post. 

Ravi Shastri, Venkatesh Prasad, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus and Dodda Ganesh along with Lalchand Rajput are in the race to become next India head coach. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) which comprises of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laman will select the next coach on July 10.
