This Video Of Virat Asking The Crowd To Chant For India Instead Of His Name Is Brilliant

There’s no 2 ways about it. Last night’s match crazy (in a positively delirious giddy sort of way). In the space of 3 balls, every Indian fan went from total despair to undiluted joy. During Bangladesh’s unsuccessful run chase, Virat Kohli was fielding near the boundary.

A fan on Twitter uploaded this video of Kohli fielding as the crowd cheered his name.

But instead of thanking them or even soaking it in, the Indian vice-captain turned to the crowd and asked them to cheer for the only name that really matters- Team India.

As Tony Adams once said, “Play for name on the front of the shirt, and they’ll remember the one on the back.”

And Virat couldn’t have done it any better.
