Virat Kohli Gets A Wax Statue At Madame Tussauds To Mark The Beginning Of The World Cup

Indian captain Virat Kohli got his wax statue at the Madame Tussauds a day before the start of the World Cup.

The statue was unveiled at Lord’s cricket ground on Wednesday and will be shifted to the museum soon. It will be on display there till July 15, for the full duration of the tournament.

A report from India Today quoted Steve Davies – General Manager at Madame Tussauds London -as saying:

Cricket fever is set to sweep the nation in the coming weeks so what better way to unveil our new figure of Virat Kohli than with the help of our neighbours at Lord’s.

The statue is dressed in current India jersey, while the gloves and shoes have been donated by Kohli himself. 

Kohli-led India will play its first World Cup match on June 5 against South Africa and there couldn’t have been a better timing for the unveiling of the statue.
