Among the many things that unite Indians, sports is a crucial one. It brings people together to celebrate victories and to stand by sportpersons in defeat, irrespective of linguistic, religious and ethnic differences.
In a video that’s doing the rounds, legends from different sports including the likes of cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar, hockey ace Dhanraj Pillai, tennis stars Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi, shooting star Gagan Narang and former India captain Bhaichung Bhutia pay their respects to the nation.
They also state the importance of sports in the lives of the nation’s youth. It would have been nicer to hear them singing, but even just seeing them gives you goosebumps.
