After a lot of waiting, Apple Inc has finally begun sale of the iPhone XR that have been assembled in India. The company is looking forward to expanding its share in the world’s second largest smartphone market.

TechSpot

The phones are assembled at Foxconn’s India factory. This will help Apple to avoid paying a high amount of import taxes that are imposed on importing fully built devices. Not only that, but will also help the company to meet local sourcing norms for opening its own retail stores in the country.

Business Today

According to Hindustan Times, boxes of Apple iPhone XR with “Assembled in India” tag were seen in many of the country’s electronic product retailers, with a price tag of ₹49,900 for the 64GB model.

The ongoing trade war between USA and China will compel companies like Apple to look for alternate production hubs and India might become a country every brand will look at for production of their devices.
