After Huge Outcry, Apple’s New Update Will Allow Users To Stop The Slowing Down Of Batteries

The conspiracy theories surrounding the deliberate slowing of iPhone batteries were given a stamp of approval last year when Apple itself admitted to have done it.

The Daily Beast

This was followed by the speculations regarding the reasons behind the move.

It was said that the company slows down the batteries to force users into buying the newer models of the phone, which led to a barrage of lawsuits.

Denying these claims and attempting to bring transparency, Apple will now introduce a feature that will allow the users to stop the batteries from getting slow.

As per a report from The Telegraph, Apple CEO Tim Cook said:

We’re gonna give people the visibility of the health of their battery so it’s very very transparent, this hasn’t been done before. We will tell somebody we’re slightly reducing your performance by some amount in order to not have a sudden restart, and if you don’t want it you can turn it off.

He further added:

We don’t recommend it, because we think people’s iPhones are really important to them and you never can tell when something is so urgent.

While some people say this is a way to get rid of court cases and win back the confidence of users, devoted iPhone users will be happy with the news.
