We all have friends and family living in vilaayat, those who we can’t meet often and would actually like to.
Facebook, until now, connected us with them online. We could see where they went, who they went with, what they ate… that is if they chose to tell you, of course. What if I tell you Facebook has made it possible for us meet our faraway friends ‘physically’?
Facebook introduced its application called Spaces that lets you do just that.
Their website says, “It is a new VR app where you hang out with friends in a fun, interactive virtual environment as if you were in the same room.” It lets users create a digital avatar based on their actual Facebook profile photo, and interact as that person in a virtual world where they can meet other real-world friends.

Spaces was first demonstrated publicly in October 2016 by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He showed off how users could conjure virtual objects out of thin air, and how real-world images and live video could be seamlessly integrated inside the VR experience.
How it works:
With Facebook Spaces app, users with Oculus Rift headset and Touch controllers can join up to three people in the virtual playground and perform various activities together such as watching videos or clicking pictures. The company has already released the beta version of the app.
