Google on Monday launched a new personal safety mobile app called ‘Trusted Contacts’ that will enable users to connect with friends and family in case of an emergency, says this report in The Wall Street Journal.
Using ‘Trusted Contacts’, you can share your location with your loved ones. In case of an emergency, they can request your status to check whether you’re safe. In response, you can either let them know you’re okay or decline the request.
If the request goes unattended, the app will automatically send your current location to the concerned contact or your last known location if your phone is offline.
Reportedly, the app will also display what the company calls “activity status” that will show when your phone was last moving.
The app is already is available for Android and the company will soon launch an iOS version.
