Intensifying the competition in the telcom sector, Mukesh Ambani launched his ambitious Reliance Jio 4G service with a slew of blockbuster offers.
He literally dropped a bomb by promising the lowest data rates in the world and announced free voice calling, zero roaming charges which will forever change the face of India’s telecom industry. As usual, social media was abuzz with reactions with people going gaga over the announcements and many appreciated Jio’s disruptive plans.

Within a few hours of the launch, Ambani’s game-changing plan took other telecom companies by storm and considerably whacked their shares. Shares in India’s largest wireless carrier Bharti Airtel Ltd fell as much as 9.1 percent, while third-biggest Idea Cellular slid up to 9.3 percent by midday.
