How long has it been since you took a break from your life in the city? Do you keep putting it off ’cause ‘where’s the time to go somewhere right now?’ Well, what if I told you the perfect escape to inner peace is no more than half an hour away?
A few innovative people teamed up with My Travel Pie to create the campsite and a weekend trip of all our dreams. All set with dim ball-lights, hammocks, barbecue sets and a campfire, this spectacular place surrounded by mustard fields at the foot of the Aravali hills is what romantic movies are made of. And believe it or not, it’s only 30 minutes from the city.
Just off Sohna Road, this little spot in a Gurgaon village is a perfect weekend waiting to happen. The camp organisers have you covered on food and accommodation – with delicious treats and tents awaiting you when you arrive – and basically everything else you could ask for.
They’ve got indie bands coming in to serenade the campers, and a projector handy in case you feel like turning it into a movie night. Creative workshops, swings and hammocks to chill out in and a whole sky of stars to gaze at, are just some of the amaze-balls stuff that they’ve casually thrown in. They even have a little books and board games’ library set up! I mean, come on!
The next day, the campers also take a trip to nearby polo grounds where watching a match and possibly riding a horse are on the table for whoever feels inclined.
The site is equipped with modern bathrooms and toilets, ’cause let’s face it, even the most outdoorsy aren’t big on doing their business in the vast outdoors.
These camping trips are only operational for the weekends of 25th March, 1st April and 8th April and have a maximum capacity of about 35 campers each. But I sure hope they stick around for longer, ’cause we’d just be a city of angels if more of us got to unwind in a bohemian haven like this.
