The trailer for one of the most awaited films of the year, Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero released today – and one thing is clear, Shah Rukh Khan is reprising his role as the Bollywood romantic hero.

The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan as 38-year-old Bauua Singh, in search of love and matrimony.

Originally from Meerut, he is all set to find the ‘diamond in the rough’ as he falls in love with Anushka Sharma’s photo in a marriage bureau.

Anushka Sharma plays the role of a differently-abled scientist, bound to a wheelchair.

Reluctant at first, she soon falls for the rough charms of Bauua, only to apparently be left alone.

Despite the three-minute long trailer, it is unclear as to how the second female lead of the movie, Katrina Kaif (who is playing a movie star) comes into Bauua’s life.

What is clear though is that she too falls for him, only to reject him because he is nothing but a ‘zero’.

His journey in the search of love, and all that it entails, forms the crux of the story. It also appears that after finding love, he still leaves his love interest(s) alone at the altar.

The fourth romantic drama by director Aanand L. Rai -who has previously directed Tanu Weds Manu series and Raanjhanaa – is characterized by the same signature humor that’s always been a part of his movies.

The movie releases on December 21.
