This One Cartoon Perfectly Sums Up The Sad State Of Women’s Safety In Our Country Today

Abhijeet Bhatt

With the ever rising cases of all kinds of assaults on women in India, it’s pretty clear that women’s safety is not our biggest strength.

And to add insult to injury, it’s often the victim who’s blamed for the suffering she has to go through at the hands of someone else.

As was seen recently in the Varnika Kundu case.

Be it a ‘short dress’ or a late night outing, somehow, the fault always ends up being that of the woman.

And the unfair reality was recently captured by this brilliant cartoon aptly summing up the sad state of affairs in present times.

The cartoon, which was shared on Twitter by writer and journalist Mrinal Pande, is a satirical take on the ‘Beti bachao, beti padhao’ slogan.
