This Photographer Is Placing Disney Princesses In The Real World And It’s No Fairy Tale

Prapti Elizabeth

The amount of wealth amassed by Disney through the idea of a life that’s full of joy, laughter, and love, is beyond what we can think of. Many of us watch the lives the people live on screen, enjoy it and find a tiny escape from the perils of our everyday lives. But pop surrealist, Dina Goldstein begs to differ. She picks the most beloved characters from myths, legends, and fairy tales, places them in contemporary situations, forcing the viewer to face the brutal reality. Here are a few images from her series called Fallen Princesses, and they tell a very different tale when placed in the world we live in.

From fighting wars to cancer to obesity to a lazy husband, the real world may deal you a shitload of cards.
