India’s Star Sprinter Dutee Chand On ‘TIME 100 Next’ List

It’s no doubt that 2019 has been a great year for Indian sprinter Dutee Chand and following that she has crossed another milestone. 

TIME magazine has added Dutee Chand to its first-ever TIME 100 Next which is also a new expansion of the TIME 100 list of the most influential people in the world.

This list focuses on 100 rising stars who are shaping the future of business, entertainment, sports, politics, health, science and activism, and more.

After being named in this list, Chand added

“I am delighted to receive this recognition from the TIME magazine. I believe in gender equality. I will continue to fight for the rights of young girls and women in sports as well as in the larger society.

Dutee Chand had become the first Indian woman sprinter to win gold at the Universiade in Napoli where she competed in 100m and had won two silver medals in 100m, 200m at Jakarta Asian Games.
