35 Indian Women Who Are Unwriting The Rules & Creating Their Own Path To Victory

Dessidre Fleming

As women, we’ve known history rather differently. Our history was bound by rules that were written by those who wanted to cage us, mold us, box us into a version that they chose for us. But, history rewrites itself. And in our present day and age, as women, we are writing our own history. We rewrite it by unwriting what they wrote about us, and writing our own stories, making our own rules, paving our own path and making way for countless others who come after us to do the same.

Women’s Day might be a social construct, and sure, we celebrate our victories, every day of our lives. But, let’s celebrate women unwriting the rules doubly so today. ScoopWhoop is taking this opportunity to honour these modern Indian women who have either created something iconic or become iconic symbols and sources of inspiration to millions of others. All while they open up to us about the struggles they faced and all the naysayers who only fueled their purpose more.

We salute their passion, grit and determination to keep on keeping on, come what may.
