Kate Winslet Has An Inspiring Message For Every Woman Who Has Ever Been Put Down

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

– Eleanor Roosevelt, Former First Lady of the USA

This has been one of those ever-inspiring quotes that has kept me going. I believe that there exists absolutely nothing that can bring you down, unless you yourself allow it to happen.

And that is exactly what our Titanic diva, Kate Winslet, reminded us of during a speech sometime ago, after winning the British Academy Film Awards for Best Supporting Actress for Steve Jobs. Critically acclaimed and commercially successful, Kate was patronized by her drama teacher in school.

When I was younger, when I was only 14, I was told by a drama teacher, that I might do okay, if I was happy to settle for the ‘fat girl parts’.

Watch her inspiring video, which also has a short message for her teacher, here:

We repeat:

Any young woman who is ever been put down by a teacher, friend or even a parent, just don’t listen to any of it!

Thank you, Kate, for inspiring an entire generation to be our confident self, always.
