PV Sindhu Is The Only Indian Featured In Forbes List Of Highest-Paid Sportswomen In The World

Forbes released their list of World’s Highest-Paid Female Athletes 2019 on Tuesday and an Indian athlete has secured a place in it.    

According to reports, with total earnings of 5.5 million dollars (INR 39 Crore), Indian Badminton star PV Sindhu has tied for the 13th place with Thai golfer Ariya Jutanugarn in the Forbes list.

Sindhu remains India’s most marketable female athlete…. She became the first Indian to win the season-ending BWF World Tour finals in 2018.

Number 1 on the list of the top 15 female athletes is Tennis champion Serena Williams with total earnings of USD 29.2 million. She is closely followed by 2018 US Open champion Naomi Osaka who has total earnings of USD 24.3 million.

Forbes has mentioned that the earnings tally looked at prize money, salaries, bonuses, endorsements and appearance fees between June 2018 and 2019.
