1. Controlled blood pressure 

Uncontrolled blood pressure is one of the worst enemies of your kidney. Blood pressure that is more than 140 mmHg and less than 90 mmHg increase the risk of kidney failure. This makes keeping your blood pressure levels controlled important. 

2. Reduced alchol consumption 

This is a very common way to keep your kidneys healthy. Excessive alcohol consumption can severly damage kidney cells 

3. Keep your cholestrol levels intact

Obesity is another factor that increases the risk of kidney failure. Keeping your blood cholesterol levels intact ensures that the lumen of blood vessels stay healthy and there is a proper blood supply to the kidneys.  

4. Curbed blood sugar levels 

Increased blood sugar levels trigger the cells in the kidneys and increase the risk of kidney related diseases. 

5. Increase water intake 

We all are aware of the fact that an adult body is made up of 70% of water and there is not part of our human body that can survive without water. Drinking enough water daily will ensure that your kidneys do their functioning properly. 

6. Reduce salt intake 

Just like sugar, excess salt intake is harmful to the health of your kidneys. Increase salt intake results in accumulation of water in the body that increase the blood volume and results in hypertension and stress on the kidneys. 

7. Regular physical activity 

Indulging in any form of physical activity like exercising, playing a sport etc. can increase the level of blood flow to the vital body organs including the kidneys. 

8. Proper UTI treatments 

UTI or Urinary tract infection can affect any part of the urinary tract including the kidneys. UTI’s usually pass from the urethra to the bladder and then to the kidneys. This makes it essential to get your bacterial and fungal UTI’s treated properly at an early stage.
