In a shameful incident, a woman in UP’s Mainpuri was mercilessly beaten up along with her husband after she spoke against three men, who assaulted her.
The incident happened on Monday when Vandana Tiwari and Ashwin Tiwari were asking for directions from somebody and some miscreants passed lewd comments at her. One of the assaulters also tried to pull her ‘dupatta’ and groped her. When she and her husband protested against it, both of them were beaten up, reported ANI.
The video which has gone viral on social media clearly shows the woman being hit with a stick repeatedly in the middle of a market in front of her daughter while bystanders just stand and watch. The woman was seen bleeding from the head, yet no one from the crowd intervened.
After the incident, a case has been registered at Kishani area police station in Mainpuri against three.
One of the suspects, Anand Yadav, has been arrested and a special team has been constituted to nab the other two accused.
