Thanks to their grit, determination and a never-say-die attitude, visually impaired people in different parts of the world have managed to sustain self-sufficient lifestyles despite the challenges.

But sometimes, what we may consider very basic, might be next to impossible for them. Whether it is reading the expiry date on a carton of milk or simply trying to identify a picture, or any other situation where a simple touch is not a solution, might create problems for someone who cannot see. And this is when some help would be nice.

Be My Eyes ‘ is an iPhone app that was made exactly for this reason. It brings together a community of people who need help and those who can help, through video chatting. And it makes life easier for many people.
