Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy is about to come to an end. The third and final part of The Hobbit series, titled The Battle of the Five Armies will be a bittersweet one for many fans. While on one hand we can’t wait to see the film, we also realize this is the last film in the Middle-Earth series. The LotR on-screen saga that started out in 2001 with The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring , defined an entire genre of fantasy films, a genre that was usually never considered serious cinema by film critics. While The Hobbit series has faced some criticism for overuse of CGI and drifting away from the source material, it’s still a fantastic retelling of one of the best fantasy stories ever written.
