The First Ever Video Uploaded On YouTube Turned 10 Today. Happy Birthday, Awkward Elephant Video!

Raj Das

For many of us, 2005 might not seem like a long time ago, but hello people, we’re talking about a decade here. But why are we suddenly talking about 2005 now? Well, because that’s when the YouTube was born. And the first video ever to be uploaded on the site just turned 10. Titled ‘Me at the zoo’ it’s as simple a video can be, where a boy talks about how elephants are cool cause they have really long trunks.

Check it out.

This video also spawned the first ever comment on a YouTube video and it was by user COBALTGRUV and it said “Interesting….”

Yep, just that.

Funny how a video so simple is actually part of digital media history.
