This Photographer In Syria Stopped Filming To Save A Wounded Kid. Humanity Still Exists!

Adarsh Vinay

How many times have we seen various gut-wrenching photos and wondered how the photographer could be so heartless as to keep clicking instead of doing something about the situation?

Well, you can argue that they’re just doing their job and that these photos bring to light what is happening in the world around us. But at what price? Is an award-winning photograph really worth the life of the photo’s subject? Is whatever you win or get paid for the photo worth someone’s pain and misery or – in some cases – life?

Well, Abd Alkader Habak definitely doesn’t think so!

The man is a war photographer in Syria and while shooting a video, he saw a little kid lying wounded after an explosion and in dire need of help. Without further thought, he rushed in.

Speaking to CNN, Habak said:

“The scene was horrible — especially seeing children wailing and dying in front of you. So I decided along with my colleagues that we’d put our cameras aside and start rescuing injured people.”

“I was overcome with emotion. What I and my colleagues witnessed is indescribable.”

There’s a video as well. But the gruesome footage is not for everyone. But if you can, do watch it. It will open your eyes to everything that’s happening in the world we live in.

For the sake of humanity, I sincerely hope there are more people out there like Abu Alkader Habak.
