A hotel in Jaipur was sealed on Sunday because a group of people alleged that they had prepared and then disposed of beef.

According to a Times of India report , Kamal Didi, the leader of National Women’s Cow Protection Group, alleged the staff of Hayat Rabbani Hotel had cooked and served beef in the hotel.

A huge crowd gathered outside the hotel and shouted slogans against cow slaughter. They also demanded that the owner of the hotel hand himself over to them.

Indian Express reports that after a complaint filed by Kamal Didi, the police arrested owner Naeem Rabbani and one of his employees for deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class.

While the hotel was sealed by the municipal corporation for not producing a license for its operation, Jaipur (West) Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ashok Kumar Gupta called the beef rumours “baseless”.

Gupta added that those living around the hotel were miffed with the hotel staff constantly throwing non-vegetarian food waste in the open, which in turn was being consumed by the cows, reports Deccan Chronicle.
