Most of us grew up with the magic of Harry Potter. It wasn't just a series of books or movies, it was our entire childhood. The books by J.K. Rowling beautifully created an entire universe for us to live in and fantasize about. Even the movies, despite their obvious and astounding flaws, will forever be part of our lives.
You might wonder why we referred the movies as obviously flawed. Well, that is because the sheer number of interesting and important characters they missed out on. I mean, do the movie watchers even know why Voldemort became what he became? It could have been a hell of a better story than the Lavender Brown bullshit they peddled.
1. Frank and Alice Longbottom
Frank and Alice Longbottom were Aurors and two of the original members of the Order of the Phoenix during the first wizarding war. The prophecy that chose Harry Potter to be the chosen one could have also referred to Neville; their only son. For both Longbottoms had defied Voldemort thrice. However, they were tortured to insanity using the Cruciatus Curse by Bellatrix, Rodolphus, and Rabastan Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr. They had to spend the rest of their lives at St. Mungo's hospital.
The fact that Peeves was not included in any of the movies was a tragedy of the highest order. He was described as the most notorious poltergeist in British history. Unlike his counterparts, Peeves could attain a physical form and disappear at will. He, along with the Weasley twins caused mayhem throughout their time at the school. Peeves also fought in the rebellion of 1995 that drove Umbridge out of the school. He is also known to have fought in the 2nd Wizarding War that ended the reign of Lord Voldemort.
Winky was a freed house-elf who had been working for the Crouch family. She was given the responsibility of Barty Crouch Jr. after Barty Crouch Sr. had illegally freed him from Azkaban for the sake of his dying wife. After being freed, she spent the rest of her days working at Hogwarts kitchen and drinking heavily.

After being released from the spell by Merope, Tom refused to acknowledge her and their child- Tom Marvolo Riddle otherwise known as Lord Voldemort.

Bagman had once been accused of passing on information to Deatheater Augustus Rookwood but had been acquited. A famous beater who had represented England in 1982, Bagman's weakness was gambling. He, however, was in charge of the tournament, along with Barty Crouch Sr. and had offered Harry help to win the tournament as he had placed a large bet on him with the goblins.
7. Charlie Weasley
Charlie was the second son of Arthur and Bill Weasley. He was a Prefect and a Quidditch captain during his time at Hogwarts, following which he went to Romania to study dragons. He helped with the management of dragons during the Triwizard tournament. He was also an active participant in the 2nd Wizarding War at Hogwarts.
8. Hepzibah Smith
Hepzibah Smith was an old and wealthy woman with a fondness for ancient artefacts. In fact, she is known to have played an important role in the creation of Horcruxes and Tom Riddle's transformation into Lord Voldemort. Smith also claimed to have been a descendant of Helga Hufflepuff. However, her interests in artefacts had led to her befriending Tom Riddle at Borgin & Burkes. But when she showed her two most prized possession to Riddle (Helga Hufflepuff's cup and Salazar Slytherin's locket), he killed her using an undetectable poison and framed her house-elf for it.
9. Augusta Longbottom
Augusta Longbottom was Neville's grandmother. She is rumoured to have attended Hogwarts with Professor Minerva McGonagall under Headmaster Dippet. After the torture of her son Frank and his wife Alice led them to go insane, she took care of their son Neville. Neville admits that his grandmother had initially thought he was a squib and was pissed off when she thought he hadn't told anyone about his parents because he was ashamed of them. But following his involvement in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, she seemed to be proud of him.
10. Professor Cuthbert Binns

12. Regulus Arcturus Black
Regulus Black or as he was commonly known R.A.B was Sirius Black's younger brother. He had given in to the Black family's propaganda of blood purity and the hate of muggle-borns. He had joined the death eaters but later realised his mistake. In an act of redemption, he stole Salazar Slytherin's locket and tried to destroy it. He had Kreacher replace the original locket but was killed by the Inferi in the cave.
Think we have missed someone?
