Just a day after Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) member, Sourav Ganguly, announced that they have decided to put the decision to appoint next Indian cricket team's coach on hold. The Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) Chairman Vinod Rai has asked BCCI CEO Rahul Johri and acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary to announce the name of the coach by Tuesday evening.
"Mr. Rai has asked the BCCI to announce the name the head coach by Tuesday evening. He has spoken to the BCCI CEO Rahul Johri and to the BCCI acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary and asked name the head coach," a source told to the Hindu.
Ganguly on Monday said that the committee needs to speak to skipper Virat Kohli before taking any decision.
“We need to talk to a few people, especially the captain (Virat Kohli),” Ganguly said.
The committee, which also includes Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman, interviewed five candidates for the job in Mumbai on Monday.
Team India has been without a head coach since Anil Kumble stepped down from the post after the Champions Trophy.
