Last month, stand-up comedian Abijit Ganguly made a Facebook post accusing Kapil Sharma of allegedly lifting one of his jokes on Indian bowlers in the latest episode featuring women’s national cricket team players Mithali Raj, Veda Krishnamurthy, Jhulan Goswami and Harmanpreet Kaur.

Ganguly, who accused Kiku Sharda of copying the joke while trying to use Kapil Dev and Zaheer Khan’s name as examples, said that he was informed by a friend on Facebook and then on Twitter by a stranger. Here‘s the post where he expressed his concern.

Even if it’s a coincidence, interestingly, as Abijit points out, the joke was cracked on the show just two weeks after he released his original episode on YouTube.

Now the stand-up comic has decided to hit back at all the victim-blaming that followed the incident. In a video titled ‘Sleepless Nights With Kapil’, Abhijit spoke about the ‘trolls’ that followed and the social media chaos.

Here’s the video of him talking about Kapil and ‘Kapilians’ dealing with the plagiarism:

On behalf of Abhijit, we’d like to ask you guys to not call yourself ‘Gangulians’ because that’s just very off-putting.
