Exhibiting exemplary dedication to serving the nation, CRPF commandant Chetan Kumar Cheetah who was hit by 9 bullets during a combat operation with LeT terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir last year, has resumed duty.
Last year on February 14, Cheetah suffered bullet injuries to his right eye, brain, arms, abdomen and thighs. He was admitted to AIIMS trauma centre and was in a deep coma for almost a month-and-a-half.
The brave commandant was awarded Kirti Chakra, the second highest gallantry award.
Soon after he was discharged from the hospital, the man with a steely resolve expressed his desire resume duty. He wants to join the CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) battalion of the CRPF which fights Naxalites.
As of now, Cheetah has joined the CRPF’s directorate at CGO Complex and is waiting for a posting. Keeping in mind that he's still recuperating, he's been given office related work. The braveheart soldier might still need a couple of years before he could go back to combat duties.
