Avengers: Endgame is supposed to release on the 26th of April, 2019. And most of us will be watching the first show, maybe even the 2nd. But that is not the case for Australia's Alexander.

33-year-old Alexander is suffering from a rare genetic disease called 'Fanconi anaemia'. He has liver cancer, mouth cancer and bone marrow failure. In his own words, he is terminally ill and might not live long enough to see the film.

Alexander went viral after starting a campaign on Reddit asking Disney to release the film earlier so that he could watch it before taking his last breath.

According to NME, many fans then started tagging the Reddit accounts of directors Joe and Anthony Russo on the thread called 'Dying Before April: My Endgame', while others used #Avengers4Alexander on social media.

Speaking to reporters he said:

I’m not a child or anyone with a particularly tragic story. Just a normal guy. I’m 33, lost my sister three years ago to the same rare genetic disease it turns out I have too. I’ll leave behind a devoted girlfriend and an adopted greyhound.

He added:

Also, because Australia is a small place, turns out I know a guy who knows a guy who is chums with Chris Hemsworth. I think they called him tonight on my behalf.

Now he has informed the media that Disney has gotten into contact with him and was discussing options.

I cried when I read their email. It’s everything I hoped for and I owe it to all of you.

But he is not done yet. He admits that it would be greedy but wants to start a similar campaign for Game of Thrones season 8 which starts airing on the 14th of April.

Well, we hope it all works out for him.
