First off, let me just say that Donald Duck, is indeed one of the most iconic cartoon characters for the 90s kids. But, sorry if you are a Donald Duck fan, this article isn’t the one where we shower praise on him. This is dedicated to the annoying aura around the talkative little fucking duck, the one cartoon I just didn’t get!

In between Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and other lovable characters there was this selfish white duck. For some reason Donald was always annoyed, and for no apparent reason. And the thing was even at the best of times you couldn’t understand him but when he was irritated, he’d be squealing so much unintelligible shit that I presume was the motivation for someone to invent subtitles for videos.

I mean fine, you can give the logic that it’s a duck how can it speak normally, but then if you are making the duck talk English, might as well not butcher the flow!

We could understand every other duck on the show. Whether it was his three nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie or Uncle Scrooge or even Donald’s girlfriend. But whenever Donald Duck came on screen, suffice to say you woudn’t understand what the hell he was on about. He was a real pain in the ass, just google his gifs and you will mostly find him going red in anger or yelling at someone!

Just a simple Google search and you’ll find the internet awash with fan theories that Donald was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. There were a series of shorts in which he fought the Japanese in World War II. A reasonable Donald got drafted and shipped to the Big War and an angry shell of a duck returned.

But that’s all these were and remain. Theories. Back when I was a kid, I didn’t have time (or the internet) to go looking for backstories to a Saturday morning cartoon.

Now that I think about it, adulthood is turning me into Donald Duck, being grumpy all the time and getting mad at people for silly things! It was very realistic of the animators to have a chracter so relatable but then I didn’t need that shit when I was eight and watching cartoons for a fun time, away from the dark side of life and responsibilites.

So yeah, fuck you, Donald Duck for all the quakcy bullshit you blabbered and almost ruined my childhood. I am sorry for being so agressive but then, I had to give you the taste of your own medicine.
