The then 20-something-year-old actor was straight out of drama school when she took up her first big job as Daenerys and she was still trying to get a hang of how things worked in the industry.

Watchers of the wall

As she was on Dax Shepard’s podcast, having an in-depth conversation regarding Danny’s character, Emilia opened up about a lot of things.

The brave and bold Mother of Dragons opened up about how she was not always very comfortable doing certain nude scenes. She further added:

I’ve had fights on set before where I’m like, ‘No, the sheet stays up,’ and they’re like, ‘You don’t want to disappoint your Game of Thrones fans.’ And I’m like, ‘F-ck you.

She further revealed how she had her weak moments too and shared how she coped with them:

Whatever I’m feeling is wrong, I’m going to cry in the bathroom and then I’m going to come back and we’re going to do the scene and it’s going to be completely fine.

According to E!News, she felt that she had to do the nudity scenes while shooting for GoT because she was a brand new actor with no prior experience.

I took the job and then they sent me the scripts and I was reading them, and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s the catch! But I’d come fresh from drama school and I approached it as a job, if it’s in the script then it’s clearly needed, this is what this is and I’m going to make sense of it. Everything’s going to be cool.

Thankfully, Jason Momoa a.k.a Khal Drogo knew how to take care of the moon of his life off-screen and onscreen. Emilia claims that Jason always told her that her feelings were valid. She further adds:

He took care of me, too,in an environment where I didn’t know I needed to be taken care of.

She further realises how “fortunate” she was to have Jason as her co-star and reveals:

It is only now that I realise how fortunate I was with that, because that could have gone many, many, many different ways.

Well, during the interview, she’s admitted that she’ s a lot more “comfortable” now that she’s moved away from her comfort zone.

I’m a lot more savvy (now) with what I’m comfortable with, and what I am okay with doing.
