Sana Saheem Khan is in a long-distance relationship with her fiancé Taufik Chhotani, and one of the things they hold close to their hearts are the many FaceTime dates they’ve spent watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
And according to BuzzFeed, since the show has been so integral to their journey, Sana’s friend Michelle Naik and her sister Shamain Khan gave her the perfect bridal shower – one with F.R.I.E.N.D.S written all over it!
(probably with Monica’s trusty label-maker!)
“We’re in a long distance relationship and we see each other maybe once a month, so we try to do different things to make us feel like a ‘normal’ couple. The FaceTime Friends dates are one of them. He reminds me of Ross. Maybe it’s the nerdy jokes, haha.”
Basically what Sana’s trying to say is…
So I reckon it’s safe to say definitively that they’re each other’s lobsters.
Sana’s real life Monica and Phoebe basically threw together a bridal shower that would make any F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan go…
And it looks like they really ‘pulled a Monica!’ (And I mean it in the way of Phoebe, not Judy Gellar!)
What better way to remind them of their love and how it’s based on giving and receiving as well as having and sharing. And the love that they give and have is shared and received. And through this having and giving and sharing and receiving, we too can share and love and have… and receive.
Text: “We look at you and we see you together and it just, it fits. Y’know? And you just know it’s gonna last forever.”- Joey
The shower had cups. No, no, not the game that Chandler made up to give Joey money! Cups that named this very beautiful episode in Sana’s life.
Everything from the Central Perk set up, to the utterly divine spread. Plus, it was clean – and not just ‘Health Department’ clean, ‘MONICA’ clean!
Also, thankfully, nobody had trouble sharing food. *phew*
The delicacies served were not just drool-worthy, but also adorable reminders of all the good times F.R.I.E.N.D.S has given the happy couple.
Oh and if you’re marrying a Ross, no bridal shower would be complete without someone yelling “WE WERE ON A BREAK!”
(Thankfully here no doors were slammed as someone else yelled, “Just so you know, it’s not that common, it doesn’t happen to every guy, and it IS a big deal!”)
We just hope they don’t take their love for the show too far and say the wrong name at the damn wedding! Whenever in doubt, just sing to each other, “I’ll be there for you!”
May your lives be as crazy and funny and filled with love as every episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S combined! We wish you two lobsters all the happiness in the world. Cheers!
