What worse can happen? When your work becomes the place of utter discrimination for you. Recently on Twitter, Gulshan Devaiah shared that- apart from nepotism, there are other things in Bollywood that need to change. He says, “So much tamasha is made about nepotism” people are segregated based on their job profile, with separate dining areas also need to be done away with.

Gulshan told Hindustan Times “It’s a very common occurrence. It happens across the entire spectrum, be it film sets, ad shoots or TV sets. I’ve been seeing this since the time I’ve been working here. It doesn’t happen on every set, but a lot of sets do segregate.”
While work culture can be hard to survive following politics, discrimination, wage gaps and, the list goes on and on. Gulshan’s Tweet opened up a can of worms with other Twitter users from within the industry coming forward to talk about the workplace segregation in Bollywood.

I've worked as an AD, and I absolutely hated this. As far as I've heard this isn't the case with Rohit Shetty. He's known to treat his crew quite well. It works both ways actually. I was once eating from the fighters area and got called out ki aap yahaan se kyun khaa rahe ho.

Hahaha… Yes exactly. I've worked as an unpaid AD in one television show for biggest production house. Each crew has their different menu. Spot definitely not having paneer, sweet or any another food item that probably camera or production crew are having.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s set believes in Method Acting for the crew too. Even the spot boy of one specific group of payscale is not allowed to fetch water for someone from another group of lower payscale.

Unfortunately this happens every where.. Research institutions, corporate offices, defence services (have seen it happen first hand), government offices.. separate dining areas, difference in quality of food, separate washrooms, separate lifts in buildings for officers and staff

A 1st AD on n TVC asked me to stop eating, take my plate and move as I was junior and cannot sit on table with director & DoP. I stopped eating. It was disgusting. Not to forget kebabs hidden below buffet table are not for those on whose backs sets run.
