Priyanka Chopra who is currently in Africa as part of her United Nations project for child welfare, took to Twitter to celebrate and applaud the court’s verdict in the Nirbhaya gang-rape case.

‘You will never be forgotten’ Priyanka wrote while emphasizing on the fact that the verdict may have taken five long years but justice has finally prevailed.

Priyanka has always been very vocal about her thoughts and principles on women empowerment in our country. 

In her brief note, she wrote “We as a modern 21st century society, allow such heinous things to happen to our women never ceases to trouble me”
