While we’ve all grown up watching Mahabharata on television, have you ever wondered what would it be like if things were set in 2016? Like, how would Pandavas be in present-day India? Would Draupadi be fine getting married to 5 men- that too brothers- at the same time?

If these questions have ever bothered you, there’s something to help you out with the answers. Large Short Films, who’d earlier produced The Day After Everyday directed by Anurag Kashyap and featuring Radhika Apte in the lead, have now come up with Mama’s Boys. This Akshat Verma-directed short film stars Neena Gupta, Arunoday Singh, Jim Sarbh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Vivaan Shah and sets the Draupadi story in present times.

You have the same plotline as Mahabharata but this time, the problems are of our times. For instance, Arjuna is cribbing about his mother’s cooking, Bheem is just busy pumping iron in the gym and there are boys checking out girls on Instagram. But amidst all this, the film raises pertinent questions about female objectification and Draupadi‘s right to decide for herself.

However, all this has been presented in the most hilarious manner possible. You’ll be laughing your guts out, that’s for sure.
