As India’s very own desi girl, Priyanka Chopra announced her roka to Nick Jonas today, the whole world collected to wish the couple a wonderful life ahead; commoners and celebrities, included.

But, it was one particular Instagram post that really touched our hearts. It was cousin, Parineeti Chopra’s incredulously sweet post dedicated to sister, Priyanka Chopra.

But, that’s not all it was.

Today I witnessed magic and a fairytale … When we were kids, mimi didi and I used to play “ghar ghar”. We would pretend to be shy brides, have imaginary children, and serve tea to our husbands! 🙈🙈 cheesy, but its because we always believed in the magic of love and hoped we would both find that perfect man for us one day!! Today there was no pretending. I cant think of a more a perfect man for her. Like I said this morning, there are two ways of judging a human being. One – travel with them, and two, eat with them. Nick, I have done both with you. And so I know you’re perfect for her!! Love her, because she loves you like mad! Protect her, because shes strong, but a soft soul inside. I love you both and wish you all the happiness forever!!!!! HAPPY ROKA AND FUTURE WEDDING!! 💍💑@priyankachopra @nickjonas

Her post was a beautiful message that every sister will always relate to – the memory that two sisters share right from their childhood innocence and well into their playful adolescence; the quest for true love.

When you move beyond the cheesiness of how we sisters grew up playing pretend; as we found our imaginary partners and lived fairytale versions of happily ever afters we never knew were even real, we were slowly instilling within us the innate belief in the magic of love, and thereafter, in the existence of that magic.

To most, this might be just another celebrity Instagram post; but, to every sister sibling, it’s a reiteration of that faith we had as kids in a love and romance that, as adults, we often forget to believe in.

So, while the world roots for Priyanka Chopra (trust me, I’m right up in her cheerleader squad for all the goals she’s giving us), I’m cheering for every sister who’s rooting for her sibling to find the magic of true love!
