The winners for the 66th National Film Awards were announced today, and 2018’s third highest-grossing film, Andhadhun, won the award for the Best Feature Film (Hindi).

Directed by S. Raghavan, this mystery thriller was the perfect marriage of a well-developed script and terrific performances. It also won the award for the Best Adapted Screenplay.

Ayushmann Khurrana also won the Best Actor award for Andhadhun, along with Vicky Kaushal, who won it for Uri: The Surgical Strike.

This year also saw Surekha Sikri bag her third National Award, for Best Supporting Actress, for her role in Badhaai Ho. Swanand Kirkire won the Best Supporting Actor for Chumbak.

Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, and Sonam Kapoor starrer Padman won the award for the Best Film On Social Issues.

Padmaavat won the award for the Best Choreography and Best Music Direction, while Arijit Singh won the Best Male Playback Singer for Binte Dil from the film.

Uri: The Surgical Strike won the award for Best Background Music, and Marathi film Paani – produced by Priyanka Chopra’s production house Purple Pebble Pictures – won the Best Feature Film on Environment Conservation.
