Justin Bieber is coming to India for his concert in Mumbai, and the whole country is gearing up to welcome him with a wide variety of gifts. If his long list of demands weren't enough (which included a Sri Lankan masseuse), the 23-year-old popstar will be presented with a sarod by none other than Ustad Amjad Ali Khan.
The sarod maestro was quoted by IANS as saying, "He’s a role model for the millennial generation and it’s so wonderful to see the love that he has generated. Since it’s his first visit, it’s a welcoming gesture as an Indian artiste."
Bieber will also be presented with a biker jacket by Rohit Bal, which has elements of sitar, sarangi, veena and an embroidery of 10,000 Swarovski crystals. It will also include the lotus which is considered his signature Indian motif.
Apart from being presented a personally designed hoodie by Dhruv Kapoor, customised JB sneakers designed by Manav Gangwani along with Krishna Mehta's Indo-Western formal shirt, Bieber's mother will also receive gifts like Anamika Khanna's tribal ensemble and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni's (Rishi Kapoor's daughter) bespoke neckpiece made from rubies.
Looks like this one-of-a-kind trip will really help the Canadian popstar immerse himself into Indian culture, long after he goes back from the tour.
Maybe a sarod solo in his next hit song? Who knows?
