To avoid a Bihar-like situation, Uttar Pradesh will soon make copies of Class 10 and 12 toppers public. This is being done to ensure transparency in the results.

Deputy Chief Minister of the state Dinesh Sharma, who is also the secondary education minister, told The Times of India, “This will remove any doubts on evaluation and ensure transparency.”

While this year, the answer copies of UP state board Class 10 topper Tejaswi Devi (95.83%) and Class 12 topper Priyanshi Verma (96.20%) will be made public, the next year will see copies of the top three rank holders put up online.

It is being hoped that other students will learn by looking at copies of meritorious students.

According to the UP Madhyamik Shikshak Sangh, the new Yogi government is the first to accept their long-pending demand of making the toppers’ answer copies public.
